Welcome to Warrior Women | Faith & Prayer Community for Christian Women

Hey friend, I'm so glad you're here. If you're new to Warrior Women, welcome. And if you've been part of this community for a while already, welcome back. I wanted to take a minute to explain why you're getting this series either way. I've been working behind the scenes for a while now to make Warrior Women a place that actually serves you better, not just another blog you signed up for once and forgot. Everything here is built on Ephesians 6:10-18, the full Armor of God, and I realized I had...

The One Thing Your Grandchildren Will Never Forget

Hi friend, I want to tell you about the week my family spent sorting through my grandmother's belongings after she passed. China, jewelry, old photographs — it all mattered, but one thing mattered more than everything else combined, and it still sits on my nightstand today. In my newest post, I share why a life of quiet, faithful prayer is the one inheritance that can never be spent, chipped, or packed away in storage. I also open up about my own journey as "Gigi," what my grandchildren have...

What are you believing today?

Belt of Truth Hi friend, A Roman soldier's belt wasn't decoration. It held everything else in place. Without it, the rest of the armor shifted and slipped in battle. Paul knew what he was doing when he put truth first: "Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist." (Ephesians 6:14, BSB) Truth is what holds the rest of your armor together. And I don't just mean truth in general. I mean the specific lies you are believing about yourself right now. That you're behind. That...

Your strength comes from Him

Be Strong in the Lord Good morning, Before Paul ever mentions a single piece of armor, he says this first: "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power." (Ephesians 6:10, BSB) Notice what he doesn't say. He doesn't say be strong on your own. He doesn't say, "Pull yourself together and push through." He says be strong in the Lord. I think a lot of us, especially women who are used to holding everything together for everyone else, quietly skip that part. We go straight to gritting...

Stay Connected to the One Who Fights for You

Pray at All Times Hey friend, We've covered every piece of the armor this week: truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word. But Paul doesn't stop there. He adds one more thing that ties it all together: "Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints." (Ephesians 6:18, BSB) Prayer isn't a piece of armor sitting next to the others. It's the thread running through every...

Guard Your Mind

Helmet of Salvation & Sword of the Spirit Good morning, "And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." (Ephesians 6:17, BSB) These are the last two pieces, and they belong together. The helmet protects the mind. The sword is the only offensive weapon in the whole list. Both are Scripture itself. Your mind is where most spiritual battles are actually fought. Not in some dramatic external moment, but in the quiet, repetitive thoughts you have about...

When Doubts Won't Quiet Down

Shield of Faith Friend, "In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one." (Ephesians 6:16, BSB) A Roman shield wasn't small. It was large enough to cover most of a soldier's body, and soldiers often stood shield to shield in formation, covering each other. Fear and doubt come at us like those flaming arrows Paul describes, sudden and meant to catch us off guard. What if this doesn't work out? What if I've made a...

Finding Peace When Life Feels Unsteady

Shoes of Peace Hey friend, "And with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace." (Ephesians 6:15, BSB) Roman soldiers wore hobnailed sandals built for stable footing on uneven, rocky ground. Not comfort. Stability. That's the picture here. Peace isn't the absence of a rocky road. It's steady footing in the middle of one. I have sat with families in some of the most unsteady moments a person can walk through. What I noticed is that peace rarely showed up as a feeling. It...

When You Feel Like You're Not Enough

Breastplate of Righteousness Good morning, The breastplate protected a soldier's heart and vital organs. It was not something you could go into battle without. "With the breastplate of righteousness arrayed." (Ephesians 6:14, BSB) Here's what I want you to hear today. This righteousness isn't something you earned by keeping it together, staying on top of your quiet time, or having your act together in front of other people. It's not a performance review. It's something given to you through...
Prayer of Jabez verse graphic with hands folded over an open Bible, Jabez cried out to the God of Israel and God granted his request, Warrior Women Blog

A prayer for whatever "Jabez" you've been called

Hey friend, Have you ever felt guilty asking God to bless you? I have. For years, praying for my kids and grandkids came easy. Praying for myself felt like I was asking for too much. Then I sat with the prayer of Jabez, a short, bold prayer tucked into 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, and it changed how I ask God for things. Jabez didn't hedge. He didn't apologize. He asked God to bless him, enlarge his reach, guide his hand, and keep him from harm. And Scripture says God granted his request. Most people...
