Finding Peace When Life Feels Unsteady

Shoes of Peace

Hey friend,

"And with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace." (Ephesians 6:15, BSB)

Roman soldiers wore hobnailed sandals built for stable footing on uneven, rocky ground. Not comfort. Stability. That's the picture here. Peace isn't the absence of a rocky road. It's steady footing in the middle of one.

I have sat with families in some of the most unsteady moments a person can walk through. What I noticed is that peace rarely showed up as a feeling. It showed up as the next faithful step. Get up. Make the call. Say the prayer. Show up for the person in front of you. One step, then the next one.

If your life feels unsteady right now, you don't need to have it all figured out before you move forward. You just need to take the next faithful step, and let that be enough for today.

Reflection Question: What's stealing your peace right now?

Prayer: Steady my heart.
